Come visit us and see what we are all about and share you common interests with other maker. Learn about what we have to offer in tools, classes, and community. We are public facing tools and equipment that you can get access to like a gym membership, only we don't do contracts. Pay by the month!

We are a 501(c) non-profit that was created out of the need for community, tools, and non-traditional education (immersive).

Come see our tools, community, and what we do!

We are a collaborative workshop where our members make, innovate, and expand their knowledge through our community of makers, equipment, tools, classes, coaches, and immersive learning.

GJmakerspace exists to enable our community of makers to turn an idea into a physical reality; where entrepreneurs, small-business, individuals, and groups have access to tools and training to create their idea and grow it into something bigger.

Get more than just an introduction to the exciting world of controlling stuff using low-cost microcontrollers!  This hands on series of three consecutive sessions gets you going with your own Arduino microcontroller and parts kit, which are yours to keep.  Wayne Wall, experienced computer engineer and instructor will guide you in understanding how to construct your own circuits and how to program them to your specific needs.  This class is for beginners who may have no prior knowledge of electronics or programming.  The hands-on immersive style allows you to gain knowledge in each session, then continue work at home between sessions.  Additional assistance will be available from Wayne, as well as others, via a free instant messaging app which can be installed on your computer and/or smartphone.  There will be several project themes you can choose from depending on your personal interest.  More specifically:

    • Each session will be held at GJmakerspace, 2591 Legacy Way, Grand Junction, CO 81503.
    • The sessions will be from 9:00 am to noon on three consecutive Saturdays (May 5, May 12, and May 19).
    • Attendees will need to arrive 15 minutes early and bring their own computers (laptops preferred) in order to run the Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment), which is necessary to create programs for the Arduino microcontroller.  (Instructions on how to download and install the IDE will be provided to attendees beforehand.)
    • Basic hand tools will be provided by GJmakerspace for use during each session.
    • An Arudino Uno microcontroller and parts kit are included in the course cost and become the property of the attendee.
    • This course is being offered at the one-time only introductory price of $99 and limited to the first 10 prepaid enrollees.  (Minimum age: 15 years.  Minors require parental/guardian permission.)
    • Sign up and prepay for the course at www.gjmakerspace.org/events.  Enrollment ends April 30, so parts kits can be ordered and received.
